The Steading enjoys a privileged location just two minutes drive from the historic town of Dornoch and five minutes from the world famous Dornoch Championship Golf Course.

There has been a settlement here for many centuries, with evidence of viking raids and a sixth century church in the centre of town. Dornoch was made a Royal Burgh in 1628.

Jump to modern day Dornoch and you find a picturesque town with a wealth of cultural and historical attractions. The most famous being the 13th century Dornoch Cathedral. Around town guests can visit the 16th century Bishop’s Palace (now a hotel), the old town gaol, the Carnegie library and many historic houses and cottages. The local museum is a great place to learn about the rich heritage of Dornoch and its residents.

The wild and rugged Dornoch coastline is closeby with its long windswept beaches and scenic and woodland walks. Perfect if you want to clear the mind and escape the noise of city life.
